April showers bring May Flowers
May Day is a European festival of ancient origins marking the beginning of summer, usually celebrated on 1 May, around halfway between the spring equinox and summer solstice. It emits joy and laughter to the hearts of those who participate because of the use of flowers.
Cherry blossoms have been described to have a beautiful smell and have been the inspiration for many candles and incense for household use.
Often people place flowers in their hair or in their home to make life just a little more cheerful and beautiful.
A wildflower hike triggers all the happy brain chemicals at once! You get a steady stream of dopamine as you make discovery after discovery. You trigger oxytocin as you share that excitement with others. You trigger serotonin as you applaud your participation in this fabulous activity. You even stimulate endorphin if you hike with exertion.
These natural internal beauties can give us an illuminating feeling and change of mood
people in a study who received flowers, unanimously exhibited a smile, a genuine expression considered by psychologists to be “the sole indicator of true enjoyment.”
Stop and smell the flowers and enjoy their beauty. Its a natural high.
